_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Assignments:
View sites of the Critical Art Ensemble (i.e., http://www.critical-art.net/biotech/biocom/index.html) to prepare for screening next week.
- Go to" http://www.classbrain.com/artmovies/publish/article_209.shtml and read the page.
Then view the movie "Matrix Reloaded" -
- Do one of the following projects and make it a journal entry. A definition of tessellations is at http://mathforum.org/sum95/suzanne/whattess.html. You can also refer to http://www.tessellations.org/ (a graphics tessellation site)
- Project 1: Create a drawing that represents a self-replicating virus. Since a self-replicating virus duplicates itself, tessellations make a good visual representation.
- Project 2: Write a paper on one specific type of computer virus. Cover the history of the virus type, current solutions, and future concerns.
- Project 3: Write a story about Agent Smith and his ability to replicate within the system. What will he do inside the Matrix?
You will present (informally) your assignment to the class next week.
