As we mentioned during last week's class, Dan and I have decided to collaborate on our project and combine our ideas of an orbital space ring habitat and sacred geometry based architecture in the context of self replicating habitats. We will combine our resources and research to determine in detail what is involved in the creation and replication of a sacred geometry based orbital ring. This includes determining the materials, methods, types of construction, resources, and logistics. This is the first step in the project.
We have also determined that in terms of deliverables, we intend to create a video. Whether the video is an animation, live-action video, simulation, or some combination of those is still up in the air. We will initially research the available resources and once we determine how the mechanism is actually going to work we will be equipped to make an informed decision regarding which medium is best to convey our mechanism.
Tentatively we have decided that the video will show how our orbital ring is created, how it self-replicates, and the mechanism by which it works.
Dan will focus more on the space ring and the challenges of building and living in space. I will focus more on the construction, replication and the sacred geometry portion of the project. We will both work out the logistics, materials, and resources involved, and will synthesize them to create a video.
