In the movie A Strange Culture, Kurtz was accused of terrorism when he notified the police of the death of his wife. A man possessing bacteria at his home would certainly raise questions. He could be viewed as a terrorist or a scientist conducting his research. The police perceived the situation as the former, but that didn't have to happen. If Kurtz had kept the bacteria at his workplace, he would not have been suspected in such a manner. The research these artists/scientists are conducting is both amazing and often useful. The E. Coli used by Chris Voigt to produce images is one example of the many possible benefits to come from this exploration. Useful or not, these scientists/artists should really protect themselves from such accusations as in Kurtz's situation. In other words, they should keep all work-related materials at the workplace.
